Our Imagery and Graphics

Our visual storytelling reflects Aflatoun International’s mission to empower children and youth globally through authentic, diverse, and purposeful imagery. Our imagery strategy balances professionalism with warmth, ensuring that every visual element reinforces our commitment to social and financial education while celebrating the rich diversity of our global community.

Photography Guidelines

Authentic Learning Moments
Capture genuine interactions in educational settings – children engaged in group activities, hands-on learning experiences, and collaborative problem-solving. Focus on natural expressions of curiosity, discovery, and accomplishment rather than posed or overly staged scenarios.

Global Diversity
Represent the breadth of our international reach through imagery that showcases children and youth from various cultural backgrounds, geographic regions, and socioeconomic contexts. Ensure inclusive representation across age groups, abilities, and ethnicities.

Empowerment in Action
Select images that demonstrate confidence, leadership, and active participation. Show children taking initiative, presenting ideas, working with financial concepts, or engaging in social enterprises that benefit their communities.

Graphic Elements

Infographics and Data Visualisation
Use clean, accessible infographics that simplify complex financial and social concepts. Employ our brand colors strategically to create visual hierarchy and maintain consistency with our professional aesthetic.

Maps and Geographic Elements
Incorporate world maps and geographic visualisations to highlight our global presence and impact across 116+ countries. Use our brand palette to distinguish regions and create visual connections.

Educational Illustrations
When photography isn’t available, utilize simple, modern illustrations that maintain our professional tone while remaining approachable and culturally neutral.

Selection Tips

Quality Standards

  • High resolution (minimum 300 DPI for print, 72 DPI for web)
  • Sharp focus with good lighting
  • Consistent colour temperature that complements our brand palette

Composition Guidelines

  • Include negative space for text overlay when needed
  • Maintain visual balance and clear focal points
  • Ensure images work effectively across various formats and sizes

Cultural Sensitivity

  • Respect local customs and traditions in all imagery
  • Obtain proper permissions and releases
  • Avoid stereotypes or oversimplified representations

Avoid:

  • Stock photography that appears overly generic or posed
  • Images that don’t reflect our educational mission
  • Visuals that compete with or distract from our brand colours
  • Poor quality or pixelated graphics

Remember:
Every image should tell a story that aligns with our mission of empowering children and youth to create positive change in their communities and the world.
